Why I'm NOT Searching For Happiness

Pull anyone off the street and ask them "What are you looking for in life?".

If they answer "Happiness", then ask them "So how will you know when you've found it?".

Most people would probably stammer and start struggling for answers... "Umm.. ahh, well...I guess when I have a family....uhhhhh...maybe when I have lots of money.....ummmm"

This is one of the reasons I'm not searching for happiness.

Happiness is too general a term. It's been used and overused and it almost has no meaning. It's much like the word "Sale" in the shopping malls....practically every store has the "Sale" sign in their windows that it really doesn't mean anything anymore.

Happiness for a person could be having a beer and watching TV all day long, or it could be eating something when they are hungry, or it could even be going to the bathroom.

I'm not searching for happiness because I'm happy most of the time and I've already found happiness.

Instead, what I'm searching for are ways to reach my dreams and goals because those are worth searching for. These things are specific and I'll know right away once I've achieved it - unlike happiness which is very vague and many people will have trouble determining whether they've achieved it or not.

Many of the things I am searching for are listed on the right hand column - the things I'm manifesting. Yes, most of the things listed will make me happy, but at least they are concrete and I will know when I've accomplished them.

Obviously my goals and targets will change in the future and may adjust to my lifestyle, but at least it will keep me going forward.

Some might argue that if you are constantly upgrading your goals and increasing your targets, you'll never be happy - but this won't be the case for me because as I've stated previously - I'm already happy, in fact, I'm happy most of the time.

I look at it this way - by achieving my goals, all I'm doing is enhancing the happiness I already have and by upgrading my goals as they are accomplished, it just makes life much more interesting.

After all, if I didn't upgrade my goals, I'd just be standing still and living the life of mediocrity!
