I have travelled to many places in this world and I still have a lot of travelling yet to do. You can learn a great deal about humanity by travelling and immersing yourself in other cultures.
I strongly believe more people should get out there and visit other countries because you'll gain a whole lot of respect for other customs, cultures, and religions....and once we have that respect, the quicker we can all embrace each others' differences.
In every place I have visited, I learned something about that place that I didn't know before.
Below is a few things I've learned from some of the places I have visited.
London, England
I never knew how diverse the people of London were until I actually got there - it was one of those things that was refreshing to see. Since their empire used to span the globe, most people are quite knowledgeable about the food, customs, and habits of people from a variety of regions.
Paris, France
I really appreciate the Parisians because they know how to relax and enjoy themselves...nobody ever seemed to be in a rush to get anywhere and the pace in and around the city just seemed to be a notch slower than what we're used to.
Los Angeles, USA
If I had to pick a place that has the best weather year-round, it'd have to be in LA. I really like what they are doing over there in LA with their revitalization of their city center so I'm sure we'll be back for a visit. You've got great weather, great beaches, and beautiful people - what else can you ask for?
Las Vegas, USA
It's a place where people can gather and just have a good time without having to worry about what others think about them. Soo much entertainment, soo much alcohol, and soo much to do it was almost like being a kid in a candy store.
Bahamas
Nothing beats seeing the crystal clear waters off the coast of Bahamas. Even just looking at the water reminds me of being in heaven. It's a place to go to if you really want a real vacation - sleeping, swimming, and sun.
Malaysia
Never have I been to a place that is so respectful towards it's own diversity. Did you know that the whole country observes all Muslim, Chinese, Indian, and Malay holidays? Did you know that many people there can speak Hindi, Cantonese, Mandarin, English and Malay? They can probably converse with 75% of the world's population!
Singapore
Everything here was so clean and orderly and for some reason I never felt safer than in Singapore. There were many unusual signs that I'm not used to seeing (for example, I saw a "No Urinating In The Elevator" sign), but I guess that's how they are able to keep Singapore spotless.
Brunei
Did you know that alcohol is banned in Brunei? Despite certain restrictions, we found it very peaceful in Brunei. Most parks and public places seemed virtually empty which made it all that much more peaceful. As an oil producing nation, I can tell you that they certainly know how to enjoy their riches...all I can say is that there's gold, gold, and more gold everywhere you turn!
Cuba
Even though most people in Cuba don't have much, I have never seen people so happy and so eager to welcome foreigners and tourists. Everywhere you turn, the people are smiling!
Hong Kong
I don't think I've ever been in a more crowded place and yet, somehow Hong Kong still functions! Everything here seems to be stuck in fast forward so if you don't want scowled by the locals, you'd better keep up!
Obviously there are still so many other places I have yet to visit and I'm hoping that for the rest of my life, I have the opportunity to see as much of this world as I possibly can.
