My Dream Home - 12,000 Square Feet Of Heaven

I have visualized my dream home so many times that I practically know it like the back of my hand.

Even though it doesn't exist, I can tell you specific details about it including the colors of the walls and even the kind of tile I have in my master bathroom. Maybe the home of my dreams exists out there somewhere -
I just haven't seen it in person....yet.

Please note that the pictures that accompany this post are randomly chosen from my collection of motivational photos and are used for illustrative purposes only - my dream house will look somewhat similar to the pictures shown here, but not quite.

I already know all the stats of dream house and I'm going to give you readers a tour.

First of all, it is a grand 7-bedroom, 10 bath home with 12,000 square feet of living space. We live on a quite street on a cul-de-sac where the kids can play in for endless hours.

As you drive up the driveway, you'll reach a roundabout with a beautiful fountain in the center. As you round the fountain, you will see a a fantastic home set in gray bricks. Off to the right hand side of the house, you'll be able to see my 5-car garage.

Once you enter the house, the first thing you'll see is a grand lobby. On either side of the lobby, you'll see arcing staircases that go up to the second level.

Immediately to your left upon entering, you'll see a short hallway that leads to my office. It is here that I do all my business and research. It's also here that I'll be blogging, checking up on the stock market, and organizing my business deals. In my office, you'll find various trinkets like awards and certifications/diplomas.

Going back to the lobby again, you'll find my library off to the right side of the lobby. I love to read and I really need a place to put all my books. It'll have floor to ceiling bookshelves, comfy seating areas, and a fireplace.

Alright, let's go back to the lobby and move towards the back of the house. As we proceed toward the back, you'll see two rooms - the one on the left is a seating area where we have several couches and coffee tables....we hardly ever use that room. On the right, you'll find a living room with more comfy sofas, TV, another fireplace, coffee table, and a mini-grand piano tucked in the corner.

Let's continue. After going around a wall that separates the front from the back of the house, we come to the kitchen. It's a very bright kitchen because one wall is all windows and doors that lead to the backyard. The kitchen has a huge island in the middle (all marble of course), and a breakfast bar. All the appliances are top of the line and we have an eating table closer to the windows overlooking the backyard.

If you look to your left from the kitchen, you'll see the family room....this is probably where I spend most of my time in. It's got cool looking modern furniture, a huge wall mounted TV, another fireplace, and a few recliners.

Attached to the family room, you'll see another doorway that leads to another wing of the house. Beyond that door, you'll find my fully equipped gym. The gym is bright because just like the kitchen, it has plenty of windows and access to the backyard.

Going back to the kitchen, if you look to the right there will be an entrance to the dining room. As you approach the dining room, you'll see the butler's station and you'll also see an entrance to the pantry.

The dining room has a beautiful chandelier hanging over a huge dining room table that can seat 12. There are a few pieces of art hanging around the dining room....most of them were chosen by my wife as I can't tell good art from bad art.

Just beyond the dining room, there is access to another wing of the house. There you'll find a bright sun room. Usually after a heavy meal, we'll bring our guests to this room for some coffee and sweets.

Let's check out the backyard. There are several entrances to the backyard - either from the gym, the kitchen, or the sun room.

Upon entering the backyard from the kitchen, you'll find a large patio with lots of patio furniture (lounge chairs, tables, etc). To the right, you'll find the barbecue station - the kind that is made of stone with marble counter tops and a huge grilling surface.

The backyard also has a large rectangular swimming pool. At one end of the swimming pool, I've installed an outdoor theater where a large projection screen is hidden in one of the benches at the far end.

To the left of the pool, you'll find a small pool house (it'll just have a few washrooms and showers along with towels). Near the pool will be a hot tub.

Ok - this post is getting fairly long so I'll quickly wrap up the rest of the house.

In the basement, you'll find a wine cellar (holds up to 450 bottles of wine) at the foot of the stairs to the basement. You'll also find a theater with concession stands, a game room where I'll invite the guys over to watch the game, and some open area that simply contains hardwood floors.

I will later develop this open area into three more bedrooms, each with their own bathroom (that'll make my house a 10 bedroom, 13 bathroom home!).

And finally, the upstairs you will find all the bedrooms and each bedroom has their own bathrooms. There are several bathrooms that are not updated yet and I plan on using the next couple of years slowly upgrading and updating each bathroom in each room.

The master bedroom will have access to a balcony facing the backyard and can be accessed from the bedroom and the master bath. The master bath will have a large shower, soaker tub, and his and her sinks. Of course, the master bedroom will also have two walk-in closets - one for me and one for my wife (hers will be bigger of course).

So there you have it. I can explain it in much more detail, but there would be enough to fill the pages of a complete book!
